Construction

Removable warming/cooling pouch — the plush itself is never heated.

Before first use

Read the sewn-in care label and keep it. Check every seam and, if your friend has one, the pouch and its zip. If anything is damaged, stop using it.

Warming

  1. 1. Remove the weighted pouch: Locate the zip on your friend's tummy and gently unzip it. Carefully lift out the weighted pouch filled with heatable/coolable beads.
  2. 2. Place it face up on a plate: Lay the pouch flat on a microwave-safe plate so it heats evenly.
  3. 3. Add 1 teaspoon of water (≈5 ml) when reheating: This helps the beads replenish moisture.
  4. 4. Heat the pouch: Follow the heating time printed on your friend's sewn-in care label. Never use a time from another product or brand.
  5. 5. Check the temperature: Carefully take the pouch out and check it is warm, never too hot to touch.
  6. 6. Reinsert the pouch: Place the warm pouch back inside the tummy and zip it up securely.
  7. 7. Enjoy the warmth: Your friend is ready for a soothing, cozy hug.

Cooling

  1. 1. Remove the weighted pouch: Unzip the tummy and carefully lift out the weighted pouch.
  2. 2. Prepare for cooling: Place the pouch in a plastic bag to keep it clean.
  3. 3. Chill the pouch: Put the bag in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
  4. 4. Reinsert the pouch: Slide the chilled pouch back inside the tummy and zip it up securely.
  5. 5. Enjoy the cool relief: Lovely on hot days or for soothing everyday aches.

Checking the temperature

Rest the permitted component on the inside of your forearm for a few seconds before it touches anyone. If it feels hot rather than warm, leave it to cool and try again.

Putting your friend back together

Slide the pouch back into the belly, make sure it lies flat, and close the zip fully before hugging.

Cleaning

Remove the pouch first, then machine wash the outer plush on a gentle cold cycle.

Drying

Air dry away from direct heat.

Storage

Keep your friend dry and out of direct sunlight. Store the pouch separately if it has been cooled, so no moisture is trapped in the plush.

Before you warm or cool

  • Always follow the sewn-in care label that came with your friend.
  • Heat only the component your friend's instructions permit.
  • Never guess a heating time. If you are unsure, contact us before heating.
  • Check the temperature carefully before hugging.
  • Do not reheat until your friend has returned to the condition its instructions describe.
  • Stop using a damaged pouch, seam or product and contact support.
